Startup

The startup stage is a mandatory stage that is required for all MOCs and must be completed by the MOC’s implementation manager.

Once all critical implementation requirements are complete, the implementation manager conducts a final review of the MOC before giving permission to start up the change.

The implementation manager ensures all comments throughout the MOC are satisfactorily addressed, all necessary training is complete and remaining non-critical implementation requirements are inconsequential before approving the change for startup.

Below are the guidelines for the Startup Stage

  • The implementation manager is the only person that can approve the startup of an MOC.
  • An MOC startup cannot be approved unless all critical implementation requirements are complete.
  • As soon as the critical implementation requirements are complete, the Startup task displays on the implementation manager's Frontline Desktop in the MOC tab.
  • An instant e-mail notification is sent to all role players when the implementation manager approves startup.
  • If the implementation manager voids the MOC, the MOC will be automatically moved to the MOC > Voided folder and all role players will receive an e-mail notification.

How to Startup an MOC

The instructions below provide detailed steps on how to Startup an MOC.

  1. Select the MOC title from the MOC tab located on the Frontline Desktop. The task details display with a View MOC Summary, Approve Startup, and Void MOC links.
  2. Select View MOC Summary and review the summary carefully before completing task. The MOC Summary will display the MOC details and configurations.
  3. Select any attachment links or requirement links to view information relevant to the assigned Startup task.
  4. If satisfied with the status of the MOC, select Approve Startup and select Yes in the dialogue box confirming Approval of the startup. The MOC is then moved to the Startup stage.
  5. Select the Frontline Desktop (house) icon.

The task must be marked with a green check in order to approve startup. If it is not, select the Approve Startup button to track incomplete critical action items.

The MOC will no longer be listed under the MOC tab. If this was the only MOC task assigned to the user, the MOC tab will no longer be displayed on the Frontline Desktop.
