Feature Request Information

We encourage all clients to take advantage of the wide range of available configuration options built into Frontline’s software tools.

Combinations of built-in settings can address most use cases. If necessary, clients can submit enhancement ideas  so they can customize their site to address other use cases.

But what is an Enhancement?

An enhancement is a request to add, change, or remove functionality within the Frontline system. These enhancements, or feature requests, are submitted by client administrators to help meet the specific needs of their organization, workflow, or practices.

Once an enhancement is submitted, it will follow the process below:

Enhancement Roadmap Details:

Feature requests are added to Frontline's Development team's roadmap based on factors including available resources, scope of work required, current development priorities, and whether the enhancement is paid or not.

Frontline Support will update the client as their feature request gets completed, and notified as soon as the change has been deployed to their live environment.

Why would an enhancement require a proposal?

If the enhancement request calls for a significant amount of Development hours and code changes, then Frontline will require a paid proposal. The proposal allows our team to allocate the necessary resources, outline the scope of work, determine a one-time cost, and estimate a completion date.

A paid enhancement may also be of interest for a client requiring a faster turnaround since the Frontline Development team prioritizes resolving critical bugs,  roadmap goals, and paid enhancements.

Why would an enhancement be denied?

In most cases, a client’s enhancement request is approved if the change adds value to the tool. However, there are instances below when a request will be denied:
•    The requested functionality already exists.
•    The request conflicts with existing functionality.
•    The change could result in audit/compliance issues.
If a client's request is denied, your Frontline Support representative will explain in detail as to why it was denied, as well as provide practical alternative solutions that can help your team meet their needs.

Enhancements during your Implementation:

Enhancements that are not documented in the original project proposal will be documented and reviewed after the Training and User Acceptance Testing is completed. Based on complexity, the request may or may not be billable, but will require a separate written proposal regardless. Oftentimes, our clients find that our system can achieve the goal of an enhancement request by utilizing existing options in the system once they understand its full capabilities.
