The completion stage is a mandatory final stage for all MOCs. Once all non-critical implementation requirements, action items and notification (send notice) sign-offs are complete, the originator is assigned the Complete task.
The originator conducts a final review of the MOC before closing out the change. Once the MOC is closed it is moved to the MOC > Completed folder for future retrieval and review.
Below are the guidelines for the Complete (Close-Out) Stage:
- The originator is the only person that can complete (close out) an MOC.
- An MOC cannot be completed until all non-critical implementation requirements, non-critical action items and Send Notice sign-offs have been completed.
- A green check is shown next to the Complete task if an MOC can be completed.
- A red X is shown next to the Complete task if an MOC cannot be completed.
The MOC Summary will display the MOC details and configurations. Select any attachment links or requirement links to view information relevant to the assigned Complete MOC task.
How to Complete (Close-Out) an MOC
The instructions below provide detailed steps on how to complete (close-out) an MOC.
- Select the MOC title from the MOC tab located on the Frontline Desktop.
- Select View MOC Summary and review the summary carefully before completing task.
- Select Close to exit the MOC Summary.
- Select Complete MOC. The Complete MOC form will display.
- You may select the Inactivate MOC notice training item(s) to inactivate the Send Notice MOC training item created for the MOC.
- Typically, this is selected once the proper documentation has been updated to reflect the changes made during the MOC and there is no need to assign the Send Notice training to new employees.
- Enter any comments, if needed, and select OK. The MOC is moved to the MOC > Completed folder.
- Select the Frontline Desktop (house) icon.
If the MOC cannot be completed due to incomplete sign-offs or action items, the module will display a message describing what is preventing the MOC from being completed.
The MOC will no longer be listed under the MOC tab. If this was the only MOC task assigned to the user, the MOC tab will no longer be displayed on the Frontline Desktop.
